Congratulations to our 2021/22Student Fine Art Award winner, Siona Van Holten who entered as a senior at Highland High School! We are very proud to have included her in the GVAL 19th Annual Juried Show and Sale. She has received a $250 award and is featured in both our HD South Gallery 4 show, and in our online show.
Gilbert Visual Art League extends an invitation each year to all qualified high school juniors and seniors who either attend a school within the boundaries of Gilbert, or are residents of Gilbert and attend any school in the area (public, private or home school) to apply for the annual Student Fine Art Award.
The GVAL Student Fine Art Award is given without regard to race, sex, religion, age, national origin or sexual orientation. GVAL will not issue awards to applicants who are not qualified and reserves the right not to issue an award in a given year.
The GVAL SFAA consists of $250 award given to the most qualified applicant. The recipient shall be invited to exhibit his/her art in the GVAL Annual Juried Fine Arts Show held in March. The artwork will be exhibited according to the fine art show criteria.
Application Requirements
The Applicant Must Include:
- A completed application form which includes 3 to 5 images for judging in jpg format, not to exceed 2 MB in size and at least 1200 pixels on the longest side (form below)
- An artist statement written by the applicant of approximately 250 words (form below)
If applicant is selected as winner, art chosen to exhibit in the GVAL Juried Fine Art Show and Sale must not exceed 34″ on any side and must not exceed 10 lbs. At least one of the submitted artworks needs to be framed and available to hang in Gallery 4 at HD South, Gilbert, for the duration of the show.
