23rd GVAL Fine Art Show

Show Runs March 15th to April 11th 2026

The art will hang in the Severson Center at HD South. During that time, if your art sells, you will receive 80% of the listed price and HD South will receive 20%.

Important Entry Information

  • Member Fee: $45  
  • Non Member Fee: $55 
  • All fees final 
  • You may enter 1 – 3 pieces up to 50”
  • Artwork must have been created within the last 3 years (artwork created after January 2023).
  • Art juried and judged by independent art experts.
  • Cash prizes awarded in all eligible categories at reception.
  • Deadline to enter art is February 22nd 
  • Accepted artworks/artists will be notified after February 28th.
  • Art drop off at HD South – Thursday, March 12th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm
  • Art pick up at HD South – Sunday, April 12th from 1:00 to 3:00 pm
  • All art juried into the show, MUST be displayed in the gallery for the entire show.
  • Opening reception, Sunday March 15th 2:00 to 4:00 pm
  • Artwork sold at the Reception can be taken that day
  • All art sales must go through GVAL

Eligibility

  • This show is open to all artists 18 or older. Original art may be in 2- or 3 -dimensional form in any media and may be current or art created after January 2023. GVAL reserves the right to refuse any and all artwork submitted. Artwork must be the artist’s original concept, design and execution. Prints of the artist’s original work, including Giclée, will not be accepted, except for photographic or digital art prints created by the  artist. Artwork created in a class or workshop setting is not eligible.
  • 2 dimensional artwork must be framed OR gallery wrapped canvas (1 1/2″ minimum depth) with no visible staples. Gallery wrapped pieces must have finished edges. Artwork must be WIRED to hang. Sawtooth hangers will not be accepted.
  • All artwork juried into the show needs to be labeled on the back with the artist name and title of art piece.
  • 3 dimensional works must be able to stand on their own, or hang in a safe manner. If your piece requires a stand you will need to provide it and the size restrictions below must be followed.
  • Artwork must be appropriate for family viewing in regard to theme, character and design.
  • Artwork must have been created within the last 3 years.
  • Artwork must be available for the full term of the exhibition. Artwork sold at the gallery will be available after April 12th.
  • All artwork accepted into the show will also be available online through gval.org.

GVAL Members

Would you like your artwork entered for the GILBERT CITY AWARD ($200 cash prize)?

The city officials will select a members artwork by their committee.

Art selected will be displayed after April 12th.  The city will display selected art for 3-6 months at the City Hall Complex.

Artists retain all the rights to their artwork. Art can be for sale or not for sale.
